Guided Wine Tasting at “Donini” Winery

Donini is a wine producer and seller since 1921. Upon returning home from World War I, Domenico Donini together with his brother Ruggero decided to open a wine shop in Verna, a town suburb in Umbertide.
In the following years, winemaking increased with the help of their sons, Dino and Mario. At the beginning of the 1980ies, in an attempt to spread culinary traditions and flavors of the Upper Valley of the river Tiber, the two brothers began wine bottling by selecting local and neighboring regional grapes.
Donini wines have good acidity, and as such remain young, fresh, perfumed and perfectly match the traditional flavorful local dishes.
In the Cellar a guided tasting of selected wines and cold meats from the Upper Tiber Valley will be offered. Wine tasting will concentrate in particular on “Grechetto” typical Umbrian white wine and “DOC Colli Altotiberini” typical Upper Tiber Valley wines with Controlled Designation of Origin.
